Abstract

The extrapolator of the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism and its relationship to the media finds that it draws the attention of governments and people around the world, because of its serious consequences on the security and stability of countries; therefore this study deals with explaining the legal rules and restrictions organising dealing with terrorism issues in the media in the United Arab Emirates By studying the legislation and laws ruling the media works, and giving a clear image of these rules, to update and catch up with the rapid transformations of media technology. This requires the study to be exposed to answer many questions, such as:
 
 What is the meaning of terrorism?
 What is the relationship between freedom of speech and protecting society from terrorism?
 What are the rules imposed on the media in the United Arab Emirates to deal with terrorism cases?
 Do these rules keep up-to-date and accommodate the fast Changes taking place in media technology?
 
 The study will rely on describing the phenomenon on the theory of social responsibility as a scientific framework of which the results can be interpreted in its natural context.
 In order to achieve the objectives and answer the questions, the study uses the descriptive method, using the content analysis method, both quantitative and qualitative, through analyzing media laws and legislations organized to deal with terrorism issues.
