Abstract
Objectives The purpose of this study is to develop and justify a multidimensional sexual-oriented belief scale for adults over the age of 20. Methods To this end, the construct concept of gender orientation was newly established and questions were prepared, and the validity was verified by conducting preliminary tests and main tests on 1,372 adults living in Seoul and other regions. Results Overall, it is a concept of gender-oriented beliefs that can not only confirm the level of one's beliefs based on one's gender orientation after gender identity, but can also be used for selective intervention and evaluation by area as needed. Thus, the following research processes for scale development and rationalization are as follows. First, in this study, five factors of congenitality, acceptance of identity, uniqueness, sense of belonging, social antagonism, and a total of 35 questions were derived by adults over 20 to develop basic questions. The elicitation of these components was made through a review of several prior studies and empirical data at the consultation site. Based on the derived sexual-oriented belief items, 35 basic questions were developed, and the content feasibility of five experts was reviewed and revised to 28 questions again. The basic questionnaires were modified and utilized to conform to the sexual-oriented belief factors derived among the existing scales outside the country and the existing ones in the country. Second, the basic questions were redefined as five factors, 21 through exploratory factor analysis, and by ensuring stable model fit, reliability and validity by area through confirmed factor analysis, a sexual-oriented belief scale of 18 questions was developed, which is the final factor of 5. internal concordance .764 RMSEA value is taken into account with compatibility. good, and the simplicity with model .052 good index showed, and for longer to complete, the range of 95% confidence interval of at least to the maximum value. Conclusions We hope that this study will become a tool for the consultation site to use relevant topics and appeals in a healthy and efficient manner by objectively identifying not only the inner circle's belief in sexual orientation but also the counsel's own belief in sexual orientation.
