Abstract

The article discusses some mechanisms of nation-state building legitimization, including the identity, national memory and symbolic policy used by modern states. The application of these mechanisms is demonstrated on the example of the Republic of Belarus. Finally the author makes a conclusion about the imminent by historical standards transition of the nation-building policy of Belarus from the stage that began in 2020 to a new one based on the synthesis of its own and pro-European identity.
