Abstract

This phenomenological research explored the leisure sport experience in the COVID-19 situation. The purpose of the study was to understand how the participants experience and what they achieve in the field of leisure sport with COVID-19 situation. A total of 11 leisure sports participants who are currently doing in the COVID-19 situation were selected as research participants. Both of Semi-structured and structured in-depth interviews were conducted to collect data. The findings are as follows. First, the COVID-19 situation has become a new opportunity for some participants to participate in leisure sports. Second, the COVID-19 situation has also imposed physical, interpersonal, and structural leisure constraints. Third, in terms of overcoming the constraints, some violations of the COVID-19 guidelines were found. And in overcoming structural leisure constraints, the responses could be classified into two categories; active and passive. Lastly, the result showed participating in leisure sports help to alleviate depression during the “With Corona” era.
