Abstract

The article presents the relevance of studying the characteristics of electromechanical con-verters with ferromagnetic all-metal rotors; gives a brief review of the research in this area. The aim of the work is to develop a model of an electromechanical converter with a ferromagnetic rotor. The paper substantiates the expediency of using the field approach when considering electromagnetic processes occurring in the air gap and the all-metal rotor of such converters. The accepted assumptions are described and the field problem solution is obtained, which makes it possible to determine the distribution of the vector magnetic potential in the air gap and the massive rotor of the electromechanical converter. The general principles of constructing models of electromechanical converters are considered making it possible to analyze the influence of various design parameters and material properties and to give recommendations on their selection and optimization, considering the required type of mechanical characteristic at the preliminary design stage. Testing the model is carried out on the example of calculating the mechanical characteristics of an electromechanical converter with a ferro-magnetic all-metal rotor in the electromagnetic brake mode
