Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of the daycare center evaluation system for high-quality childcare services for daycare centers. To this end, the importance of structural and process quality, especially children-teacher interactions, was discussed as factors that determine the quality of childcare services. In addition, the OECD TALIS Starting Strong, which aims to evaluate and improve the quality of early childhood education and care, and the evaluation systems of the UK, New Zealand, and Australia, which manage the quality of early childhood education and care with an institutional evaluation system, were examined. Through this, it was suggested that the daycare center evaluation system should focus more on the process quality, pay attention to the quality of experience of children, improve the constant quality of childcare through support for the implementation of national-level standard childcare processes, and emphasize efforts for the institution's own and continuous growth.
