Abstract
The article serves as an introduction to the correspondence of Aleksandr Briusov (Valerii Briusov's younger brother) and Vladislav Khodasevich, published in the present volume. It provides a detailed outline of the history of their relations, which were complicated by their enduring rivalry, both in poetry and in personal life.
