Abstract
The aim of the study is to consider the cycle of Voeikov’s “travels”, to establish the genesis of the genre and to determine the genre features of descriptions of estates near Moscow. The scientific originality lies in the appeal to the little-studied prose texts of Voeikov in the travel genre, in substantiating the expediency of studying the Moscow region “travels” separately from the southern ones, in attracting archival materials for the study of these texts. As a result, the genre features of the descriptions of estates near Moscow were determined, in particular, those related to the synthesis of various genre features - memories, idylls, elegies, walks, messages. And also the components of the literary dialogue with the “Arzamas” brotherhood (V. A. Zhukovsky, A. I. Turgenev, etc.) were revealed.
