Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reduce the stress-induced depression of housewives and achieve self-growth through art therapy. The subjects of the study were full-time housewives in their 30s living in Y city, and art therapy was conducted once a week for 60 minutes for a total of 12 sessions. As a research method, PHQ-9 was conducted to measure changes in depression, and tree picture tests (Tree) were conducted to show self-image as a projective test for qualitative analysis to examine changes in self-growth. The results of the study are as follows. First, research participants expressed their emotions and expanded self-understanding during the art therapy program, which led to positive changes in stress-induced depression. Second, participants in the study were self-understanding through art therapy, which led to positive changes in self-objectification and self-growth.
