Abstract

Despite some positive aspects in the spatial organization of agriculture, its location and specialization do not yet fully meet the requirements of creating specialized high-tech zones for certain types of agricultural products and sustainable development of rural areas. In the Russian Federation, on the one hand, the low socio-economic level of agricultural development has remained in some regions, and on the other hand, the production and economic level of development has increased in a small number of regions characterized by high bioclimatic potential. The advantage of these regions was also the close location of the sale of agricultural products. At the same time, with the deterioration of the territorial organization of agriculture, a low technological level of its management has become characteristic for many sub-sectors. In a number of sub-sectors of agricultural production, a large proportion of low-productive and low-tech industries still remains. Despite this, thanks to the agribusiness development policy adopted by the Russian Government, certain results have been achieved in agriculture. Great success has been achieved in the production of sunflower seeds and sugar beet. The production of pig and poultry meat has increased significantly. At the same time, there is still a lack of production of milk and cattle meat, the vegetable subcomplex is poorly developing. The good results obtained in certain sub-sectors of agriculture ensured a reduction in the negative balance of international trade in agricultural products, raw materials and food. At the same time, it should be emphasized that the basis of high production indicators is the bioclimatic potential, since at a relatively low level of intensity, good yields of agricultural crops of the required quality are obtained. Despite this, the problem of providing certain regions with food remains acute. These include the sparsely populated regions of the Non-Chernozem zone of the European part of the country, Siberia and the Far East. These problems persist in the republics of the North Caucasus, as well as in the territories of the country that are remote from the centers of life support.
