Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study were to examine the influence of social support on the bicultural acceptance attitude of multicultural adolescents, and to confirm the dual mediating effect of self-esteem and bicultural acceptance attitude in the relationship between them.
 Methods To this end, 2,246 people in the first year of the second MAPS were selected as the subjects of the study. A correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between measurement variables using SPSS 23.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro 3.5, and the dual mediating effect of self-esteem and bicultural acceptance attitude was confirmed using PROCESS macro Model 6.
 Results First, the significant mediating effect of self-esteem was verified in the relationship between social support and life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents. Second, the significant mediating effect of bicultural acceptance attitude was verified in the relationship between social support and life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents. Finally, in the relationship between social support and life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents, self-esteem and bicultural acceptance attitude showed significant dual mediating effect.
 Conclusions This conclusion indicates that the study provides basic data for parents education or counseling programs to help multicultural students improve their life satisfaction by presenting evidence that social support, self-esteem, and bicultural attitude have an important effect on life satisfaction.
