Abstract

In the article the author analyzes the key aspects of Antiochene anthropology on the basis of the writings of Theodore of Mopsuestia. She considers the peculiarities of Theodore’s anthropological doctrine, distinguishing him from other Antiochene authors, in particular, his teaching on some aspects of the image of God in man, mortality and immortality, woman as the image of God. The author traces the influence of Theolodre’s anthropology on the East Syrian tradition represented by Narsai. In conclusion, she tries to synthesize some aspects of Antiochene and Alexandrian anthropology.
