Abstract

The article for the first time examines the Adyghe obligation constructions, which are formed by means of suffixes. These are constructions containing word-formative models with the verbal suffix -пхъэ. After analysing factual material the author identifies different forms of obligation depending on the lexical content of the basic predicate with the mentioned suffix, in particular, obligation, necessity, desirability, certainty, readiness, etc. The paper reveals morphological peculiarities of such constructions and determines prospects for further study of the problem.
