Abstract

In the article the author scrutinizes the relationship between the investment policy of the region and strategic development. Such interrelation has a positive impact on the spatial development of the territory, since the sus-tainability of regional economic development is ensured if it is linked to the strategy of the region. The prob-lematic issue of the investment policy in strategic planning in the context of the spatial aspect is due to the fact that it is often represented by various unrelated documents of territorial and strategic planning, or the invest-ment component is considered in development strategies from the position of investment in fixed capital, while rejecting other sources of investment. Strategies of socio-economic and spatial development, along with values and priorities, define goals, objectives, targets and standards of life support. However, without a competently built investment policy it is difficult to realize the given directions in the strategies.
