Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the trends and types of projects based on the early decision and regular Auditon Pieces in Korean Traditional Music Department of Seoul-based Music Universityover the past 10 years, and to provide data on the types of entrance exams for Gayageum and to suggest a desirable direction for the Gayageum entrance system. To this end, the frequency of the subjects and repertoires of the early decision and regular decision Auditon Pieces of Seoul National University, Ewha Womans University, Korea National University of Arts, Hanyang University, major music majors, was investigated and analyzed by year and by university from 2011 to 2020. As a result, applicants for major music college s Korean traditional music department must learn six jeongak music and five Sanjo music on average every year, and each university presents a differentiated college entrance exam with a variety of repertoires in each college s entrance exam.
