Abstract

Children’s folklore is the richest area of oral and poetic creativity of the peoples of Dagestan. Among its genre varieties lullaby poetry is most widely spread. The idea-thematic and literary content of lullabies is covered. It is noted that the archaic elements are represented in them. The authors consider the poetic figurativeness of descriptive-expressive means - metaphors, comparisons, and epithets, used in lullabies. The pronounced importance of songs in the moral education of the younger generation is emphasized as well.
