Abstract

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the improvement of the physical office environment by identifying the latent classes of public officials’ physical office environment and analyzing the predictive factors for these types. Method: This study was conducted for a total of 12 days from August 10 to 21, 2020. The subjects of the study were Korean public officials, and the survey was sent through the administrative computer network of public officials. A total of 7,409 subjects responded, and 7,409 subjects were analyzed, without omission in the data. As for the data, latent class analysis was performed on lighting, noise, air quality, temperature, humidity, lounge, and narrow space using Mplus 8.5. Results: The results are as follows. First, it was classified into three types: lack of retiring rooms and insufficient space type, inappropriate noise and air quality type, and inappropriate temperature and humidity type. Second, the variables predicting the three types were work institutions, occupations, infection risk, accident experience, disease experience, subjective health, and fatigue. Conclusion: Through the results of this study, it is necessary to prepare and improve policies at the government agency level to prepare and comply with regulations on the office environment of public officials.
