Abstract

The purpose of the study is to validate Physical activity motivation scale in the cultural context of Korea. A total of 1,038 Korean adults were voluntarily recruited from a variety of physical activity categories, including individual sports, team sports, and exercise. And item analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, correlation analysis, and analysis of variance were applied to test the study hypothesis. All analysis was conducted by SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23. The Korean version of physical activity and leisure motivation scale (PALMS-K) with 7 sub variables and 24 items was developed by conducting a series of analysis. In addition, physical activity and leisure motivation were different by gender, age, and regular exercising or not. Thus, the revised PALMS-K demonstrated acceptable factor structure, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability. It can be applicable to diverse physical activity contexts.
