Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze prior research studies to develop guidelines for apartment housing planning in response to infectious disease disasters. To this end, we tried to figure out the direction of apartment planning through systematic analysis of recently published studies and data. Results of this study are as follows. Firstly, a total of 40 items including 10 common elements, 3 external spaces, 2 common spaces, and 25 units in terms of apartment housing planning were derived from 39 literature data. Secondly, keyword items identified through content analysis were categorized into three theme; change in the concept and function of housing, response to social isolation, and resolution of disconnection from nature. According to results of this study, apartment planning to adequately respond to infectious diseases should provide multi-functionality and variability of residential space, connection with neighbors through balconies, change and diversity of interior space using colors and finishes, furniture, and close connection with nature.
