Abstract

Condensation of nitrogen- and sulfur-containing alkylphenols with alkanolamine, imidazole, benzotriazole, and formaldehyde, followed by treatment with boric acid and neutralization of the resulting products with calcium hydroxide, sulfur-, nitrogen-, and boron-containing modifications of alkylphenolate additives were synthesized. The structures of the synthesized additives were confirmed by IR spectroscopy and the functional properties of the obtained additives in the composition of SN-600 and MC-20 motor oils were studied. It was revealed that among the sulfur-, nitrogen- and boron-containing modifications, the additives obtained on the basis of sulfurized alkylphenol, alkanolamine and boric acid, IChA-235 (NB) and IChA-236 (SNB) have the highest anti-corrosion, antioxidant and anti-wear properties.
