Abstract

The performance of post-installed anchors subjected to combined tension and shear loads is investigated experimentally in terms of strength and displacement. Monotonic loading tests subjected to different loading angles between 0 and 90 degrees are performed for specimens with hexagonal section. Experimental strengths are compared with calculated strengths based on design codes and interaction curves. Anchor displacements at different load levels are investigated to examine current design code or guideline. In addition, an interpolation method is proposed to estimate anchor displacements under combined action using those under single-component action. The proposed method interpolates experimental anchor displacements at design strength levels appropriately, and thus can be used to evaluate the rigidity of post-installed anchor connections.
