Highlights
The Francis Bacon’s work entitled «History of the Reign of King Henry VII» represents the Tudor era history from the perspective of the ruling dynasty and promotes the origin of the «political myth», which shaped the historiography for many years
It is concluded that Francis Bacon’s historical and biographical works devoted to the reign of King Henry VII do not permit us to assess the genuine Bacon’s views on the historical events which took place during the early years of the Tudor period, and to reveal his own assessment of the reign of the founder of the Tudor dynasty Henry VII
The use of the political mythology becomes especially relevant in the era of political crises, on the threshold of such kind of a crisis was the King James I, his support of the Bacon’s project seems quite natural

Ключові слова: Френсіс Бекон, Генріх VII, ранній абсолютизм, тюдорівсткий період, політичний міф. Праця «Історія правління короля Генріха VII» фактично репрезентує історію тюдорівської доби на користь правлячої династії, сприяє формуванню «політичного міфу». Політична міфологія стає актуальною у добу криз, тому підтримка Яковом I цього проекту виглядає закономірною, запропонована репрезентація історії підтверджувала легітимність та мудрість королівського правління, а взаємини парламенту і короля XVI ст.
