Abstract
The article considers the problems of modernization of production as one of the directions of strategic development of enterprises. The modernization of production is due to the need to reduce the depreciation of fixed assets, including in the machining industry, on the example of which the study presented in this article was conducted. The necessity of modernization of production from the standpoint of the need for innovative economic development is also justified.
