Abstract

The article examines the term “philosophical criticism”. The author points to the problems of periodization in consideration of critical articles written by philosophers of Russian religious-philosophical renaissance. It is shown that the terms “symbolist criticism” and “philosophical criticism” are in contradiction based on different understanding of the history of literature - calendar and constitutive-typological. It is emphasized that the criticism of Plekhanov and his epigones has every reason to claim the presence of a serious philosophical component, the term itself is therefore incorrect. The paper points to the most important feature of the method of literary text research, typical of Russian religious philosophers.
