Abstract

The article studies the patterns of the introduction of political professional vocabulary and the effective strategies for conveying the meaning of unfamiliar words in the process of teaching English. The purpose of professional vocabulary teaching is the development of skills and abilities to recognize word units and terms in speech situations or different types of texts. Without professional vocabulary, it is impossible to develop and improve students’ receptive (reading and listening) and productive (speaking and writing) abilities in the professional sphere. The introduction, consolidation and retention of professional vocabulary is a complex and comprehensive process. The idea that the effectiveness of assimilation of political vocabulary depends on the choice of methods and strategies for introducing vocabulary units in the learning process and the application of multi-tasks is clarified.
