The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that it analyzes the semantics and values of stereotypical image of females of a specific age group: the paroemia with the gender component “fille” became a subject of the analysis. As a result, the study has identified the semantic groups of paroemia which reflect stereotypical values of appearance and moral qualities of a young woman, has proved that the evaluation of different components of a young woman’s image is directly or indirectly related to the perspective of marriage which is of great economic importance in a patriarchal society.
