Abstract

Viruses are one of the most tenacious forms of life in nature. Their structure is actually very simple. They consist of two parts: an inner nucleic acid and an outer protein shell. In fact, the virus itself is not very strong, since it has no metabolic function, but it can parasitize living cells and use the functions and raw materials of parasitic cells to reproduce in large quantities. There are many forms and types of viruses, and coronavirus is just one type of virus, a zoonotic virus that is transmitted between animals and humans. At the beginning of the new year 2020, a sudden epidemic of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus affected the hearts of hundreds of millions of people. This article examines the progress of research on coronavirus of various types, as well as the clinical and epidemic features of COVID-19.
