Abstract

The article presents the results of studies on the selection of the optimal nutrient medium for the cultivation of bacteria Cl. perfringens. Meat-peptone broth, Hottinger broth, thioglycolic medi-um, Kitta-Tarozzi medium, meat-liver-casein were tested for these purposes. It has been established that the meat-liver-casein medium is the most optimal nutrient medium for the cultivation of Cl. perfringens bacteria and the production of toxoids. To obtain toxoids, production strains of Cl. perfringens No. 28, 392, 213 were grown under anaerobic conditions of the bioreactor on meat-liver-casein medium for 6–9 h at a temperature of 37–38 °C. Inactivation of bacteria and their toxins was carried out by adding formalin to a culture of 0,7 % final concentration and maintaining at a temperature of 37-38 °C for 10 days. Inactivated biomass of bacteria Cl. perfringens and toxoids was precipitated with aluminum hydroxide. The antigenic properties of the obtained preparation were studied in rabbits by double subcutaneous administration of it in a dose of 2 cm3. It was estab-lished that inactivated bacteria Cl. perfringens and toxoids sorbed on aluminum hydroxide have high antigenic activity and induce the production of specific antibodies in blood serum in rabbits in titers up to 13,84 ± 0,22 log2.
