Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the structural and semantic characteristics of nominative units that serve as a means of linguistic representation of the English-language linguocultural scenario “Brands”. The article reveals the notion of “linguocultural scenario”; a detailed description of the scenario structure is carried out on the basis of the selection of basic concepts and their further detailing. It has been established that the scenario under consideration has a structure in the form of compositional blocks and is represented by a variety of inseparable and structurally separable units. The focus is on the structural and semantic characteristics of the nominative units that make up the linguistic part of the analysed scenario. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the consideration of the English-language linguocultural scenario of the thematic area “Brands” as a cognitive scheme of the speech situation using an integrated cognitive-culturological approach to the language material, which makes it possible to identify the main characteristics of its structure and semantics. As a result of the study, it was found that in the scenario under study, inseparable affixal nominative units, as well as structurally separable two-component nominal and verbal nominators, prevail. The variety of structure is combined with the variety of semantic content.
