Abstract
The article addresses the issue of the peculiarities of management and development of BMW group of companies, its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats and also development prospects. The factors that can affect the successful functioning of the BMW Group of Companies are given. The main tendencies in the automotive industry development in the world and the role of BMW in the ongoing changes are considered. According to the analyzed experience of BMW group, the authors give recommendations for improving the efficiency of management in local automotive companies and automotive industry in general.
