Abstract

The article discusses the theoretical foundations of protest civic engagement, as well as modern forms that have received the most widespread in the 21st century. Particular attention is paid to the paradigm of collective action. The experience of Iran in 2022 is analyzed, namely, women's protests that shocked and swept the whole country. The purpose of the article is to consider the women's protests in Iran, namely, their impact on the current policy of the state. It is concluded that even small shifts in government achieved during women's protests are a significant result, which in the future can become the basis for further transformations of the state and society.
