Abstract

The article deals with the development of the tobacco industry of the Krasnoyarsk krai during the reform of industrial and construction management of 1957-1964. Its influence on the industry is analyzed. During the implementation of Khrushchev's reforms in the field of industry, the transition from the branch to the territorial principle of management was made. The new system gave an additional impetus and contributed to a new breakthrough of industrial modernization in Siberia. The transfer of leadership to the regions allowed the latter to pay additional attention to the industries serving the region itself, including the tobacco industry. Demand for goods increased with growth of the population and the spread of tobacco. The article analyzes the state of the industry and its enterprises, both on the eve of the transformation and after its completion. In these years the authorities managed to achieve significant modernization of the entire industry and increase production of cigarettes in the province. This allowed not only improving the supply of the population, but also reducing the consumption of artisanal tobacco.
