Abstract

Based on declassified archival documents of the military counterintelligence during the Great Patriotic War, the article discusses the organizational structure and activities of the special services of the Spanish Volunteer Division (250 Wehrmacht Infantry Division) during its stay on the Leningrad Front in 1942–1943. The analysis of the structure and activities of the special services of the Spanish “Blue Division” was carried out in the work. It made it possible to identify the main directions, methods and specifics of their operational activities, as well as to reveal the mechanism of interaction between employees of the special services responsible for organizing activities both at the divisional, and at the regimental and battalion levels. The article traces the mechanism for making key decisions. The paper draws conclusions about the reasons for the low efficiency of the service and the inability to resist the actions of the Soviet military counterintelligence.
