Abstract

In the context of the escalating struggle for leadership between the United States and China and the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, the task of assessing the potential of import substitution in the economy of the Russian Federation has become especially urgent for Russia. The purpose of the work is to assess the impact of prospects for expanding trade and economic ties between Russia and other countries in the context of the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions. Based on statistical data, an approach is proposed to assess the prospects for expanding trade and economic ties, which determine the interdependence of the countries of the Russia – China – USA strategic triangle. This allows us to give a forecast of the development of relations between these countries. The results of the study can be used to assess the potential of import substitution of the domestic economy and substantiate recommendations to the leadership of our country. It is concluded that the People’s Republic of China and other countries can realize the potential of import substitution in the economy of the Russian Federation.
