Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of positive psychological capital regarding the relationship between perfectionism and athletic satisfaction of student athletes. 210 high school student athletes were asked to answer three criteria: perfectionist inclination, psychological desire capital, and exercise satisfaction. To analyze the collected data, SPSS18.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs were used. The major results were as follow. First, the perfectionism striving effort had a significant positive effect on exercise satisfaction. Second, the effort of perfectionism striving had a positive effect on positive psychological capital. The perfectionism concern had a significant negative effect. Third, positive psychological capital had a positive effect on exercise satisfaction. Fourth, the perfectionism striving effort had a significant indirect effect on exercise satisfaction via positive psychological capital. Fifth, perfectionism concern effort had a significant indirect effect on exercise satisfaction via positive psychological capital.
