Abstract

With the aim of developing a technology for the explosive pressing of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), the influence of pressure on the characteristics of the fine structure, the thermal and thermodeformation properties of the polymer has been investigated. It was established that a change in pressure when using this pressing method led to the implementation of various compaction mechanisms for UHMWPE and affected the characteristics of the polymer.
