Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of cognitive-semantic processes in comparative clusters with a range of one sentence based on the English-language examples. The main semes of properties of the compared entities that make up the cluster are identified. The author gives mereological substantiation for the main results of the process of comparison: identity, similarity, analogy and difference, and considers the interrelation of these mental phenomena with their objectification in the interpropositional comparative cluster as the most common. The complexity of the cluster is conditioned by the use of different types of comparison.
