Abstract

In this paper, the culture and art utilized for the purposes of propaganda is reviewed with main focuses on Wagner’s music used for German Nazism. In order to show off and justify their policies and superiority, Nazi Germany, a war criminal in World War II, typically used Wagner4s music to establish totalitarianism. For e7ample, Wagner4s music was used for official Nazi state events and political shows, and Wagner4s dramatic music was effectively used through the Bayreuth Festival to show off their superiority with the Germanic peoples. Through this study, we looked at the effect of the use of art on society through the use of interest groups for the purpose of propaganda. In the pre modern Republic of Korea, through the use of propaganda for the purpose of propaganda, the intention of the artist, or regardless of the intention, it is necessary to e7amine the form of art that ordinary citizens should be wary of by considering the purpose of pure art. Through this, culture and art will be able to face and block the risk of destruction and uniformity of cultural diversity due to misuse of erroneous groups such as interest groups. This effort would ensure sustainable correlation in between diverse cultural features in our society.
