Abstract

A comparative assessment of different agents for treatment of surface waters in the process of volume and contact coagulation has been performed. The volume coagulation at the “Mayak” filtering station, the town of Polevskoy, proved aluminum sulfate and aluminum-iron coagulant the most effective for water treatment during the flood period. To attain norm indicators of the purified water it is necessary to use flocculants and auxiliary agents. It is a good practice to use flocculating mixtures for contact coagulation.
