Abstract
The article examines the characteristics of fascism by I.V. Stalin, who made a significant contribution not only to the political defeat of fascism, but also to its theoretical understanding. Stalin being a consistent Marxist considered fascism from a socio-class point of view, emphasizing its reactionary, anti-democratic and bourgeois essence. Stalin's theoretical views had a significant impact on Soviet propaganda during the Great Patriotic War, which despite some deviation towards patriotism in the main remained deeply internationalist, anti-fascist, Marxist.
