The author developed and scientifically substantiated set of principles that will facilitate the effective implementation of the process of preparing future geography teachers for professional activity.Principles of formulation of the purpose and tasks of preparation, in particular principles of excitement and formation of value orientations. The purpose of the preparation is to formulate the ability of the future geography teacher to act in a mode of continuous anticipation. Value orientations determine the order of priority setting of various tasks of professional activity and directions of professional development.Principles of student involvement in preparation, including principles of personalization, dialogue and collaboration. Yes, the principle of personalization makes it possible to optimize the process of training according to personal educational needs. The principles of dialogue and collaboration provide an opportunity for the exchange of professional knowledge, experience and individual values between teachers and students.Key principles are: content preparation, multidimensionality, transdisciplinarity, integrativeness, variability and modularity.
