Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the creatures in the Yakut zoomorphic pantheon. It is noted that fantastic qualities are an indispensable attribute of all zoomorphic characters in a view of the world and folklore of traditional culture. Special attention is paid to the analysis and typological ranking of chimeras and werewolves in Yakut folklore. Examples of fixation of other subgroups of the creatures are given. The problem is posed of constructing an exhaustive typology that allows ranking all the fantastic characters of the zoomorphic pantheon. The article contains many examples of fantastic characters taken from the Yakut epic.
