Abstract

This scientific article emphasizes the relevance of the subject of literature in the school curriculum and the key factor for students. The subject "Literary reading" is the most important subject in primary school, and through the teaching of this subject is formed worldview of children, develops their spiritual world and language skills. Literary reading helps children develop their vocabulary and communicate with society. The history of teaching this subject has been studied in detail since the 80s and 90s of the last century. They were researched by K. Sartbaev, Z. Maryzykova, S. Rysbaev, S. Sakieva, A. Toktomametov, and the article describes the main directions of their work.
