Abstract

Dry dock is an important facility for the maintenance of the hull of a ship. As the ship size of ROK Navy has become larger, the lack of large dry dock is getting worse. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the maintenance policy or construct an additional dry dock. Meanwhile, ROK Navy is using the dry dock for two types of maintenance: ordinary scheduled maintenance and prioritized urgent maintenance. This paper analyzes the operation level of large dry dock using the priority queuing model with two classes, which suggests insightful results for maintenance policy of ROK Navy as well as an analytic model of the operation level of the dry dock.
