Abstract

The article analyzes the methodology of the textual approach to the study of syntactic concepts, in particular complicating components in a simple complicated sentence. It is proved that in connection with the communicative approach the most important in the study of disciplines of the linguistic cycle is the formation of communicative skills. It is determined that a holistic analysis of syntactic units will make it possible to determine their role in the text, depending on the communicative purpose. An important methodological requirement is the study of syntax and punctuation at the text level, ie the determining factor is the textual approach. For a holistic, complete perception of the functions of the complicating components in simple complex sentences, it is recommended to consider them in context, preferably on the example of one continuous work. In order to better master the theoretical information on syntax, the formation and development of logical thinking, observation of the artistic function of syntactic units, it is desirable to use highly artistic texts that are examples of the functioning of literary language. In particular, to consolidate the study of the topic «Simple complicated sentence» students can recommend a thorough analysis of the novel by O. Dovzhenko Gum. Students can be asked to prepare a project «Insert structures in the story of O. Dovzhenko Enchanted Gum».
