Abstract

Teaching a foreign language is increasingly challenging in the context of a rapidly changing environment and the need for integrated, practically oriented education and high adaptability to modern living conditions. This article presents a specific pedagogical practice that demonstrates in practice the importance of the competence approach in education as a source and stimulus for the development of competencies and skills in students and leading to a higher motivation for learning and self-improvement. The lesson described in the article refers to the acquisition of new and further development of old competencies and skills with the ultimate goal of creating a real product of the educational activity – advertising material. The stages that are passed through in order to achieve the final goal have been examined, the benefits of this kind of activity have been proven and the relevant conclusions have been drawn.
