Abstract

This study analyzed the effects of culinary education environment on major immersion and major satisfaction among students majoring in foodservice and culinary arts at various educational institutions. Specifically, the study examined the influence of the culinary education environment on major immersion and major satisfaction, and it verified the mediating effect of major immersion between them. The results of research confirmed that among the sub-factors of the culinary education environment, curriculum, teaching ability, and social recognition had a significant effect on major immersion, and major immersion had a significant effect on major satisfaction. Furthermore, partial mediating effects of major immersion were observed between the culinary education environment and major satisfaction. The results showed that improving the culinary education environment can have a positive influence on both major immersion and major satisfaction.
