Abstract
Th e article analyzes the factors of development of the information technology sector in Russia, reveals the problems of comparative analysis of data on the information technology sector, due to existing diff erences in the classifi cations of the types of activities of IT companies used in international standards, research, statistics and IT business rating. Th e risks of implementing the sector development strategy are disclosed, including those associated with a shortage of qualified personnel with competencies that are in demand in practice.
