Abstract

The study objective is to analyze the existing methods to dress annular diamond drills of metal bonds and to develop new schemes of dressing used for diamond grinding tools.
 The paper is devoted to solving the problem, which consists in comparing different dressing methods, analyzing their disadvantages and advantages.
 Research methods are theoretical studies of various methods of annular diamond drill dressing.
 Novelty of the work: schemes for dressing annular diamond drills of metal bonds with free abrasive are developed.
 Research results: the existing methods and schemes for dressing annular diamond drills of metal bonds are analyzed, their main disadvantages and advantages are found. Dressing schemes for the free abrasive method are developed.
 Conclusions: when drilling hard non-metallic materials with annular diamond drills, the tool loses its functionality, glares and needs forced dressing. During the analysis, existing methods and possible dressing options are considered.
