Abstract

In this work, the parameters of the porous structure and adsorption properties of carbon enterosorbents Zoocarb and SUMS-1 were studied. Organic dyes methylene blue and methanyl yellow were used as substances simulating toxic compounds of low molecular weight. It has been established that the carbon enterosorbent Zoocarb has a high adsorption activity with respect to these substances compared to SUMS-1. The nature of the obtained isotherms of methanyl yellow adsorption differs, which indicates the difference between the mechanisms of its adsorption by sorbents. This is due to the different composition of functional groups on the surface of the studied sorbents and their textural characteristics. The most promising sample for use in enterosorption for the removal of low molecular weight toxic substances is the carbon sorbent Zoocarb.
